Cruel Seas
£11.00

This pack contains Three RAF Rescue Buoys and crew models which can be used in your games of Cruel Seas to represent scenario or objective points.

A British equivalent to the Luftwaffe’s Rettungsboje, the Air-Sea Rescue Float was developed and deployed. They used a boat-shaped hull of welded steel, sixteen were constructed and deployed under the main routes bombers took to and from continental Europe.

They were equipped with cooking facilities, signal flags, a radio and six bunks. Food, blankets, clothing, drinking water and first-aid supplies were carried.

One surviving example (ASR-10) is in the collection of the Scottish Maritime Museum. More information about the RAF and Luftwaffe rescue buoys can be found here.

Two lengths of 60mm wire are included with these models. We recommend cutting lengths of 10-15mm wire to use as radio masts

Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
